NOW who could ask for anything more?! Once again, the vintage ad copy takes the cake! I don't know what I get a bigger kick out of, the actual product or the ad copy! 1964 was certainly a turning point in hairstyles for teenagers. More natural, more relaxed, swingy, flippy, shiny, run your fingers through it casual. And the most fun thing about Sixties fashions and fashion trends is that almost all was imbued with a sense of humor! I mean, a garbage can for the glamour girl's hair curlers?
It seems to me that fashion today takes itself entirely too seriously. The models are anorexic and angry looking. I guess I'd be angry too if I didn't eat. Things are sold with an emphasis on so called luxury to impress, over the top crazy prices to try to convince yourself and others that you have value as a person, and a pressure to compete with vacuous celebrities who have nothing to do with their lives but spend, gather, horde, and act out while trying to fill their bottomless pit of neediness often killing themselves in the process. Now I ask you, where is the humor in all of that? Dang! Sad.
