well, i don't the answer to #1, Larry. . but let's get this party started: i do know that Ina Balin played Pilar in THE COMMANCHEROS, and that when the director got really ill (i think it was cancer), John Wayne directed the rest of the movie . . does that count for anything? LOL

I don't think I've seen this movie, but I was curious enough to look up its plot synopsis on the Internet. Based on what I read I'm going to take an educated guess. What it the duelling scene?

The answer is. At the begaining of the movie John Wayne was boarding the boat and was noticed by Ina Balin. What she noticed was his Texas Ranger Star, which she mentioned to her friend toward the end of the movie.
