TVs Worst Sitcom The Trouble With Tracy Canadian television has been responsible for some of the worst sitcoms ever. The nadir is probably The Trouble With Tracy. To satisfy new Canadian content requirements, there were 130 episodes produced for CTV during the 1970-71 season. That's right, 130! It was a daily sitcom set in New York City. Because the episodes came off the production line so quickly and CTV was cash-strapped, quality control was minimal. Flubbed lines often stayed in the shows because retakes were too expensive. Rumor has it that all the master tapes have been destroyed. Here are the opening credits that some masochist recorded.

As an April Fools prank in 2003, one Canadian news service announced The Trouble With Tracy was going to be revived. Several media outlets fell for the hoax and reported the story.

The male star of the show, Steve Weston, died in 1985 when he fell off his roof while sleepwalking. He was 45. You can't make up stuff like this.

Was Ted McGinley or Robbie Rist ever on the show?

I remember this show from when I was a kid. Really bad stuff. It made The Beachcombers look like Frasier.

Very funny, Eric. I can safely say The Trouble With Tracy was McGinley-free and Rist-free.

The theme music was kind of catchy, though.
