This is one of my favorite songs from the 1960s, but it contains one line that really bugs me:
If he loves you more than me.
It should be If he loves you more than I.
The way this is sung it makes the unnamed guy a bisexual.

... great song... very poignant... sad. However... it also reminds me of the first time I went to Disneyland w/ family (around '69). The song got a lot of airplay back then... so I think it was playing on the AM radio when we were looking for a space in the parking lot... :P
Anyway, as for any literary innuendo suggesting bisexuality... 'Worst That Could Happen was written by songwriter Jimmy Webb and it was first recorded by The Fifth Dimension and sung by group member Billy Davis Jr... who later married co-member Marilyn McCoo. So obviously, there's nothing bisexual about either Billy, or Johnny Maestro for that matter. The lyrics were just written to be easily sung by the artist.
BTW... the gorgeous, doe-eyed blonde lady who's playing the Italian-made Elka Panther combo organ, is Carolyn Wood (nee` Imbrie). There are more pics of her at this website.
