Anybody ever heard of the expression,'A pig in a poke'?

for sure . .which really means, don't buy something sight unseen . .
here, old timers still call a brown grocery store bag a poke . .

. . let me explain further, the idea was that the consumer would be displeased if he opened his poke up and there was an unappestising cat(or the like)in there, instead of a yummy pig. .there u go!! lol
