Whats My Line Interactive Game Part 2 After seeing Steve's post from last September, Mia requested another interactive version of What's My Line. (Some of you might recall that, at Steve's request, I created one shortly thereafter. It was very successful and I promised to do another. I guess it just slipped my mind.) Anyway, I'll again pretend that I'm esteemed WML host John Daly. A mystery challenger has just entered the studio and signed in to great applause. You can all be the WML panelists. Your task is to identify said mystery guest by asking questions that can be answered yes or no. As in the previous game, the mystery challenger may be a deceased person. Good luck!

Thanks, Do you work for the Government?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-17
No, I don't work for the government.
Posted by: Steve on 2009-02-17
Are you in the entertainment business?
Posted by: Wikiriwhi on 2009-02-17
Are you currently in the public eye in your field?
Posted by: Steve on 2009-02-17
I yield to Wikiriwhi. As a matter of fact since this will only work when the two members are on at the same time, we should play it with multiple members, when a member gets a wrong question then that member is out. What do you think?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
The moderator apologizes for his 11-hour absence.

The moderator doesn't wish to curtail anyone's fun, so he won't invoke any rule that disqualifies a person for a wrong answer.

The mystery challenger now answers: Yes, I am in the public eye in my field.
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
And, yes, I'm in the entertainment business.
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-18
Do you make us LAUGH?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
If I make people laugh, it's usually not on purpose.

Mr. Daly says, 'That's one down and nine to go...'
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-18
Can I find you on the television?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
I can be seen on television sometimes.

Mr. Daly steps in. 'In order to be totally fair, this is not to say that television is necessarily the mystery challenger's greatest claim to fame. Nevertheless, as he said, he is sometimes seen on television.'
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-18
Are you Casey Kasem?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
No, I'm not Casey Kasem.

Mr. Daly says, 'That's quite a stab in the dark. That's two down and eight to go.'
Posted by: eric1957 on 2009-02-18
Can you be heard on the TV but not seen?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
Mr. Daly intervenes. 'Perhaps my previous remark has led you somewhat astray. Our mystery challenger is indeed sometimes seen on television as a performer. But that does not necessarily mean that television is where he is best known.'
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
Arlene Francis steps in. 'So can we assume that our mystery guest is not primarily a television performer but a bigger star in another medium?'

Mr. Daly replies, 'Yes, Miss Arlene. Your assumption is correct.'
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-18
Thank you, Mr. Daily! You referred to our mystery guest as a he...(Nevertheless, as he said, he is sometimes seen on television.')so I am assuming mystery our guest is a man!
CORRECT?

So, a bigger star in another medium?'
Is that other medium, have to do with music?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
A chagrined Mr. Daly admits, 'Yes, I inadvertently revealed our mystery guest is a male.'

The mystery challenger says, 'Yes, I am in the music business.'
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-18
Are you a Blonde?
Do you have Blonde hair?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
The mystery guest pauses, shrugs his shoulders, and asks Mr. Daly for some help with this question.

Mr. Daly says, 'I'd call the mystery guest's hair color fair or light, but not really blond.'
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-18
Are you a singer?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-18
Yes, I am a singer. (The audience applauds.)
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-19
married to some in the entertainment business?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-19
No, I'm not.

Mr. Daly says, 'That's three down and seven to go.'
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-19
Were you born, before 1962?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-19
Yes, I was born before 1962.
Posted by: Jedwgrn on 2009-02-19
As a singer are you better known for one particular genre?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-19
The mystery guest says, 'Hmmm....'

John Daly steps to his rescue. 'Our mystery challenger is probably best known for one genre of music, but he has been known to span into other genres too.'
Posted by: Jedwgrn on 2009-02-19
The being versatile in several spectrums suggests the mystery guest is a solo act rather than being a member of a performing group. Would one be correct to say our guest is such an act?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-19
Yes. I am basically a solo music act.
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-20
basically???? a solo music act...have you ever performed with your brothers?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-20
John Daly helps out again, 'With our mystery guest's permission, I want to clarify something. I think when he said basically a solo act, he meant he sometimes has backup singers and sometimes performs duets. But he is not promarily known for working with anyone else.'

The mysyery guest nods his approval at Mr. Daly's long-winded explanation.

I have no performing brothers, says the mystery challenger.
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-20
BAMBINA* Says: I wanted to guess and say John Denver, but he has Blonde hair...then I was guessing Andy Williams, although now you say you have no performing brothers.

Are you still performing these days??
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-20
Yes, Unlike the two other gentlemen you mentioned, I am very much alive and still performing.
Posted by: Jedwgrn on 2009-02-20
Do you play a musical instrument when performing?
Posted by: Sprucemoose on 2009-02-20
Is the genre you are best known for rock and roll?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-20
Moderator Daly apologizes for taking a lengthy break.

Yes, I play a musical instrument when I perform.

And yes most of my music would be considered rock or pop music.
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-21
Are you a producer and conductor?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-21
No, I don't think I'd classify myself as a producer or a conductor.

'That's four down and six to go,' says Mr. Daly.
Posted by: Jedwgrn on 2009-02-21
Would that musical instrument be a piano?
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-21
Are you maybe a composer and pianist?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-21
Yes, my musical instrument is a piano, and yes I have composed a few songs over the years.
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-21
Born before 62' are you Sir Elton Hercules John?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-21
No, but you're getting close!

'That's five down and five to go!' says Mr. Daly.
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-21
Not sure if this was clarified but do you make records and if so, have sold...million records worldwide
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-21
The mystery guest smiles knowingly.

Mr. Daly states, 'Modesty prevents our mystery challenger from answering. Yes he has sold many millions of records around the world.'
Posted by: Mia_bambina on 2009-02-21
Can I asked the mystery guest, Is it true you, I can't smile without you? Are you Barry Manilow?
Posted by: Lava1964 on 2009-02-21
The mystery guest says, 'How about a weekend in New England?'

John Daly announces, 'Barry Manilow it is!'

The panelists remove their masks and the audience applauds.

Thanks for participating!
